Wednesday afternoon the Door County Sheriff's Department got a call for two kayakers in distress in the water near Whitefish Dunes State Park.
The U.S. Coast Guard, Wisconsin DNR, Door County Sheriff's Department, Door County Emergency Services, Sturgeon Bay Police and Fire Departments and Jacksonport Fire Department all responded to the call.
The Kayakers and their vessel were located and safely made it to shore.
The public is reminded to check the local conditions before venturing out on the waters of Lake Michigan and Green Bay.
