The Kaukauna Area School District said they're responding to a clown threat.

According to a statement from the Superintendent Mark Duerwaechter, there was an Instagram post stating that a clown may appear at Kaukauna High School at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, October 7.

Duerwaechter goes on to say, “While this may seem innocent, national and State news sources have reported that some incidents have been hoaxes while others have led to attacks and to felony charges.”

He said the school district connected with Kaukauna Police Department to develop a plan for the school day, which includes having an increased police presence at school campuses tomorrow.

They do not believe there is a viable thereat.

Duerwaechter also encourages parents to tell students to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to a trusted adult.

If you have any concerns or information about this matter contact Kaukauna Police Department.
