A campaign ad Republican Sen. Ron Johnson wanted to pull in the wake of the France Bastille Day attack has run in at least one Wisconsin media market by mistake.
Johnson originally intended for the ad accusing Democratic challenger Russ Feingold of being weak on national security to run statewide starting Friday morning.
But late Thursday, after the truck attack in Nice, France, that killed at least 80 people, the campaign said it was pulling the spot.
But it still ran in WKBT in La Crosse, based on a screen shot provided to The Associated Press.
The ad references previous attacks around the world, along with Feingold's votes on various security-related bills during his 18-year Senate career, and concludes by saying "the world is too dangerous" to elect him again.
