A Jacksonport man is dead following a two-vehicle crash in the township of Jacksonport in Door County.

Officials say the crash happened just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon on STH 57 north of Bechtel Road.

A prelimilnary investigation says a bulk petrolum tanker was backing into a driverway to make a deliver when it was struck by a pickup truck that was traveling south on STH 57. The driver, a 90-year-old Jacksonport man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tanker was not injured.

STH 57 was closed down for several hours Tuesday due to the crash. The Door County Highway Department assisted with the detour and with the clean-up of a small fuel spill from the crash. STH 57 was reopened shortly before 7:00p.m. Tuesday.

This crash remains under investigation, but officials say speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
