MANITOWOC, WI---- "Making a Murderer" featuring the murder case against Steven Avery is creating a social media-firestorm.
Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey were convicted of the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff is responding to the 10 part series calling it a movie not a documentary.
Sheriff Robert Hermann is receiving a number of emails claiming law enforcement framed Steven Avery.
“The thought of planting of evidence it’s not practical."
Len Kachinsky, the defense attorney representing Brendan Dassey for 6 months, is getting the same backlash.
“Absolutely nothing i did ever prejudiced Dassey's ability to get a fair trial," says Kachinsky.
Sheriff Hermann says he is not concerned about the documentary having any impact on both Avery and Dassey's cases.
