A new exhibit called "Invisible" is shedding light on the homelessness issue in Appleton. It features 150 photos taken by people in the community who are homeless or on the brink of becoming homeless. The pictures chronicle their fight to find stable, affordable housing.
Mayor Tim Hanna believes the exhibit will correct the misconceptions many people have about the homeless.
"There are families and people who cycle in and out of homelessness all the time. It really is more of a societal issue, and so the more people understand the root and the root causes, the better job we can do," he said.
"Invisible" is on display this week at city hall and the History Museum at the Castle. It moves to the Appleton Public Library on Monday.
