This afternoon crews from Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to an asphalt fire inside a large industrial storage tank at Construction Resources Management Incorporated on the cities west side. Upon arrival crews found two to three inches of asphalt on fire at the bottom of the tank with heavy smoke and flames. Firefighters spent over two hours using water and foam to extinguish the fire and remove smoke from the tank. They believe welding on the roof of the tank caused the fire. Nobody was injured and no damage estimate was available.
