Hundreds of people gathered at the Green Bay City Deck Monday to catch a glimpse of the rare solar eclipse. The first 100 people there got to take advantage of some eclipse inspired giveaways such as free eclipse glasses.
"The City Deck is definitely the best spot to view it, so we'll get some solar viewers, get some commemorative T-shirts, and we'll have a party," said Kathryn Kroll with Downtown Green Bay Inc.
The peak eclipse viewing for the Green Bay area was at 1:16 in the afternoon when the sun was about 78% covered by the moon.
