Howe Elementary School receives $5,000 in school supply donation

Posted

As kids get back to the books, one school received a generous donation to help their students get the supplies they need for a successful year.

Howe Elementary in Green Bay received a $5,000 back-to-school supply donation from the Meemic Foundation, a non-profit organization created by Meemic Insurance Company.

The foundation donates to local schools every year as part of the schools in need program.

“We know how hard it is for parents to afford the school supplies we also know that teachers reach into their own pocket to help with school supplies for their classroom so we thought Howe would be a great school to give some supplies to,” said Jim Mayefsae with the Green Bay School House Agency.

Howe Elementary is one of four schools in Wisconsin that will receive a supply donation, valued at over $5,000, as part of the Schools in Need program. Meemic will present a total of nine back-to-school supply donation surprises across Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan as the 2017-18 school year kicks off.
