A Howard Village Trustee has been formally charged for allegedly sexually assaulting two of his piano students.

Jame Widiger, 62, faces one count of second degree sexual assault of a child under 16 years old, two counts of repeated sexual assault of a child, and one count of disorderly conduct according to the criminal complaint filed Friday.

Widiger is accused of sexually assaulting one student in 2003 when she was 13 years old. According to the criminal complaint, the victim said Widiger touched her while she was in for lessons by putting his hand on her thigh or patting her backside. These allegedly happened at the former Henri's Music in Green Bay.

The second victim said Widiger first assaulted her when she was in 5th grade, according to the criminal complaint. He allegedly tickled her at that time, but she did not yet understand that was inappropriate. The criminal complaint states that he told her, "Don't tell your mom that I tickled you."

The criminal complaint says the victim told police that the alleged sexual assault continued, both at the former Piano Galleries/Henri's Music and at Jim's Music (not owned by Widger). She told police that the alleged assaults included Widiger asking for hugs and touching her breasts. According to the criminal complaint, this frequently happened when she was wearing her swimsuit, which she wore under her clothes to piano lessons because she had swim practice immediately after. The alleged victim is now in 9th grade.

At Friday's proceedings, Widiger's attorney said that Widiger is possibly hiring a new attorney, and so he will not appear in court again until April 1st.
