High speed chase ends in fatal crash in Kewaunee

A 21-year-old Kewaunee man is dead after a crash in Kewaunee County late Sunday night.

A Kewaunee police officer reported a vehicle traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph on STH 29.

The speed was so fast that the officer was not able to keep up with the driver, causing the officer to give up the chase, according to deputies.

The officer attempted to locate the suspect vehicle, finding it just south of Adams Road and Hospital Road.

The on-scene officer believed the vehicle rolled multiple times.

The Kewaunee man was wearing his seatbelt and was the sole occupant inside, according to a news release.

EMS personnel responded to the crash scene, pronouncing the Kewaunee man dead.

His name is being withheld while officers attempt to notify family.

The crash remains under investigation.
