The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says that much of Wisconsin is under a high fire risk.
Critical fire conditions due to strong winds, low humidity and dry vegetation are resulting in high fire danger.
The DNR has a map on their website indicating the level of fire danger in each county.
They also warnthat you should make sure to have a written and signed annual burn permit, before burning.
You can get a free burning permit online or by calling 1-888-WIS-BURN. You also can visit an emergency fire warden or DNR office to get a permit in person.
More information on burn restrictions can be found here.
