Traffic in northeast Wisconsin is expected to be heavy as people return from out of town trips. Construction projects were put on hold over the holiday weekend, but work is to resume Tuesday morning July 5th at 5 AM on many projects.
One such project will be a full closure of WIS 116 in Winnebago County for a culvert replacement.
The DOT says while work is weather dependent, several more projects will begin again creating another traffic obstacle for drivers returning Tuesday morning.

Law enforcement are also reminding drivers to make sure they are alert enough to make the trip after a long weekend. Police say fatigued driving is very dangerous.
Also, police advise do not be tempted to share photos or be texting behind the wheel. For a successful and safe weekend, remember to avoid distractions on the road and follow speed limits. In a construction zone the speed limit drops oftentimes to 55 MPH. Receiving a ticket in a construction zone can set you back some $300.
