GREEN BAY (AP) -- A man accused of fatally shooting a woman near the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus last year has pleaded guilty to charges.
Twenty-seven-year-old Percy Sims was charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 39-year-old Krystal Torres-Smith, the mother of three children. Her body was found in an SUV in a park along the bay of Green Bay last June. She had been shot multiple times.
The complaint says Sims set up a meeting with Torres-Smith to buy marijuana. According to investigators, he was planning to rob her, but realized she knew too many of the same people he knew.
Sims will be sentenced June 28.
