A Green Bay woman returned to Brown County Court Tuesday afternoon to face charges in a deadly drunk driving crash.

20-year old Savannah Dumas was charged last week with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and operating while intoxicated causing injury.  Tuesday she appeared again in court to address the judge with her attorney.

According to the criminal complaint, Dumas was driving in Sumaico last Wednesday evening while intoxicated and lost control of the car.  21-year-old Megan Frehse, a passenger in the car, was killed.

Court records indicated a witness called 9-1-1 around 11:30pm, after he was woken by two women knocking at his door.  One states she believed her friend was dead.

The criminal complaint states Savannah Dumas admitted to consuming drinks containing vodka earlier in the evening.

Investigators said 21-year-old Megan Frehse was killed in the crash.  Another passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries.

On Tuesday her defense attorney asked the judge to address the preliminary hearing and bond because the client could not post the $25,000. The judge granted 48 hours for the state to respond.

Dumas's bond hearing is set for this Friday.  Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 3rd.  If convicted Dumas could face up to 25 years in prison.
