A Green Bay teenager is charged with attempted first-degree homicide.

The suspect is 16-year-old Michael Keshaundre Williams. The lawyer with him in court today says Williams is a junior at Preble High School and plays football.

Court paperwork says the attempted homicide charge is in connection with a late June “shots fired” case, near Eastman Avenue and Saint George Street in Green Bay. No report of anyone hurt.

Williams' mother says her son is innocent. The lawyer with Williams in court asked for the case to be dismissed, saying there's not enough evidence to put Williams at the scene. The judge let the case go forward.

There currently is no comment from the school district.
