Green Bay police make arrests after drug seizure

Green Bay police arrested four people and seized a large amount of drugs as part of a year long investigation.

Police say they searched a home on the city's near west side and found 20 pounds of marijuana, guns, and cash.

"Our guys were a little bit surprised by the high quantity of marijuana that was out there as well," Chief Andrew Smith said. "Usually, we find smaller amounts, but this would indicate to me that this is a dealer that's high up on the chain of distribution."

Chief Smith says taking a high level dealer off the street will make the city safer.

Officers arrested four adults at the home and charged two of them with felonies.

Chief Smith says it comes after a lot of evidence collection and a lot of effort from officers.

"They weren't able to get a lot of traction on it at the very beginning, but they kept at it because they believed that they had a good source, and they continued and continued, and finally they were able to put it all together," Smith said.

The adults arrested are expected to appear in court Friday.
