Green Bay Metro firefighters deliver toys to children in the hospital

Posted
Green Bay Metro firefighters made a special, surprise delivery Thursday to pediatric patients who, unfortunately, will have to stay at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital during the holidays. They dropped off toys for the children to brighten their spirits.

For Lieutenant Chad Bronkhorst, this is his favorite event all year.

"I get to hug a lot of the kids, and see the smiles on their faces, and the laughter and joy. Parents, we get a lot of tears from parents, because parents see what their kids are going through, and this is hopefully a day where they can kind of forget about it a little bit," he explains.

Organizers say the children always love seeing the firefighters dressed in their gear while delivering the toys.
