Investigations into a series of armed robberies occurring in Appleton and Grand Chute have resulted in the referral of a man on multiple counts of armed robbery. The robberies, occurring at four separate businesses within the two communities, occurred in December and January.
Timeline of robberies:
On December 30, 2015, at about 3:19 p.m. the man allegedly robbed Zza Odyssey Pizzeria in the 3400 block of West College Avenue in Grand Chute. A handgun was shown to the store personnel during the robbery.
On January 5, 2016, at about 2 p.m., the man allegedly robbed Secrets Lingerie in the 600 block of West Ridgeview Drive in Grand Chute. A handgun was shown to store personnel during the robbery.
On January 7, 2016, at about 2:25 p.m., the man allegedly robbed Cartridge World in the 2600 block of North Richmond Street in Appleton. A handgun was displayed to the store employee during the robbery.
On January 11, 2016, at about 2:46 p.m., the man allegedly robbed the Family Dollar store in the 800 block of West Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton. A handgun was shown to store personnel during the robbery.
No one was injured as a result of the robberies.
As a result of collaborative investigations involving the Grand Chute, Green Bay and Appleton Police Departments, Kevin E. Gillispie, 52 of Green Bay, has been referred to the Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office on four counts of armed robbery. Five additional charges of armed robbery, related to a series of robberies in Green Bay, are being pursued in Brown County. Gillispie is currently jailed in Brown County on those charges.
