Authorities responded to 1712 STH 147 in the Town of Gibson for a report of a single vehicle crash involving several occupants on December 5.
Upon arrival, deputies learned the driver had fled the crash scene on foot.
A press release from the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office states that one passenger was trapped inside of the vehicle.
Lt. Cummings and his K-9 partner Keto were called to assist.
The press release states that Lt. Cummings and Keto located the driver hiding at a nearby residence west of the crash scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates the driver was operating a 1996 Toyota passenger vehicle west bound on STH 147,
The driver lost control entering the north ditch striking a power pole causing severe damage to property.
A total of 5 occupants sustained various injuries from the crash. All of the occupants were transported to area hospitals. None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.
The driver has been identified as 30-year-old Daniel Munoz of Green Bay.
Munoz was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Manitowoc County Jail.
He will be charged with 1 count of causing great bodily harm, 4 counts of causing injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and 1 count of operating a motor vehicle while revoked and causing great bodily harm.
Munoz is scheduled to appear in court on December 6.
