Green Bay police are crediting a K9 for helping them seize $13,000 in cash and marijuana.
On May 21, police were called to the 700 block of Northern Avenue for a domestic disturbance between a man and woman.
Police say while they were inside the home, they smelled raw marijuana, and saw personal amounts of the drug and paraphernalia.
Officers decided to separate the man and woman for the night. It was then, that the woman turned over a bag containing 42 smaller bags of marijuana to police. She claimed the drugs belonged to the man in the home.
The man tried to leave, but police stopped him.
Green Bay K9 Pyro helped in a search of the home. Pyro led police to a backpack with a half-pound of marijuana separated into ounce bags. The backpack also had a digital scale and $13,000 in cash.
Police arrested a 25 year old man on drug charges and disorderly conduct.
Chief Andrew Smith said, “This is the third incident in the last few weeks where our K9’s have been instrumental in keeping Green Bay safe and free of drugs in our community”
