The Republican Party of Wisconsin's state convention is being held this weekend right here in Green Bay. Many republicans are hopeful that they can collectively support and unify under one presidential candidate.
Some very popular key note speakers will take the stage at the Ki Convention Center in Green Bay within the next 48 hours including House Speaker Paul Ryan, Governor Scott Walker, and Senator Ron Johnson. All of of whom haven't ensured their fellow republicans just yet that they'll support Donald Trump's candidacy.
As republicans across the state show up to Green Bay this weekend the real talking point that everyone across party lines is interested in is who the party will likely endorse for the presidency.
"They have two choices in my opinion. They either unify or they lose. I don't think a divided republican party can win no matter what democratic candidate runs," says Political Consultant Jim Morrison.
There's no guarantee that the big wigs of Wisconsin's Republican Party will go on record supporting Trump over the weekend.
"It will take some time for those of us now that are in this public realm to get to know Mr. Trump and find those areas of agreement," says Senator Ron Johnson.
But if this week's statements by House Speaker Ryan indicate anything, Wisconsin republicans seem to be falling in line.
“I was very encouraged with what I heard from Donald Trump today. I do believe that we are now planting the seeds to get ourselves unified," said Ryan earlier in the week.
And while Governor Walker has already stated he'll endorse Trump, if he's made the nominee, we could be waiting awhile for that announcement.
Political experts weighing in today say many Wisconsin conservatives are already on the trump bandwagon, but that consensus hasn't been reached just yet by party leaders.
