Oshkosh
Oshkosh Public Works Department is asking residents not to park in city streets at this time. Crews are working to clear streets as efficiently as possible and parked cars slow down their ability to complete their work. Cars parked in streets may result in the cars getting “plowed in”, thus making it even harder for crews to complete snow clearing operations.
Snow removal crews have been plowing city streets throughout the night and are about half way through the initial residential routes. Public Works reminds residents that major streets are the initial focus during a storm event, with residential street snow removal following.
Residents are asked to be patient, as crews will be making an effort to get as much of the snow plowed as possible with their initial route. Crews plan on working back through the initial routes later in the day for a second pass in an effort to better remove the significant amount of wet, heavy snow that the city received. The wet, heavy snow, compounded by the amount that fell, is making snow removal operations more challenging during this event.
