The Green Bay Protection and Welfare Committee met Monday tonight to discuss a possible ban on hard liquor sales at convenience stores.
Alderman Guy Zima introduced the proposal. He says it's in response to seeing issues in older neighborhoods such as public drunkeness, violence and littering.
"The more alcohol they can get their hands on, the more problems we're going to have in those areas, and the less likely people will want to live in those neighborhoods," he said.
The committee decided to gather more information and revisit the topic at their next meeting.
