A Green Bay attorney and former Army Reserve Officer says he's upset after his picture was used without his permission in a political ad supporting Senator Tammy Baldwin.
Michael Marquette tells NBC26 his friend held up a picture, which included him, during an ad for Vote Vets, something he says is not okay.
Marquette said Vote Vets did not ask him to sign anything allowing the picture to be used. He said he does not support Sen. Baldwin and if they would have asked for permission to use the photo, he would have declined.
“I shouldn't have to sit at my house watching a commercial with a picture of me supporting a candidate that I do not support,” said Marquette. “Because whether they intended it or not I got dragged into their commercial and I didn't want to be in their commercial.”
The organization tells NBC26 the ad is finished running, but Marquette explained that does not make it better. He said since he is a lawyer, he is looking at legal side of things.
NBC26 reached out to Vote Vets, the organization running the ad, they said they believe the picture is so small and was used for a "brief time", they didn't feel anyone was identifiable.
They also said in the next ad, Marquette will not be identifiable at all.
NBC26 also reached out to Sen. Baldwin's campaign, they said they do not comment on third party ads.
