Governor Walker took action today to lift restrictions on truckers delivering propane in Wisconsin. He issued an executive order exempting drivers of commercial motor vehicles transporting propane from federal and Wisconsin hours-of-service requirements.
In a press release the Governor said, “By exempting propane transporters from hours-of-service requirements, we’ll decrease wait times and backups and ensure people receive this critical resource safely and efficiently.”
The Governor's office says this is in response to shortages and increased wait times in southern Wisconsin, and the state as a whole, after the closure of a propane terminal in Rockford, Illinois for maintenance.
