Gov. tours state to honor Wisconsin Cheese Day

Posted

Governor Scott Walker will be joined by Lt. Governor Kleefisch and other state leaders on a tour of 13 cheese producers as they celebrate Wisconsin Cheese Day.

Held in conjunction with Dairy Month, “Wisconsin Cheese Day”highlights the importance of the cheese industry to Wisconsin’s economy and acknowledges the cheese makers’ contributions to the industry.

Also invited to the 13 Cheese Day events are state legislators, leaders from the dairy and cheese industry, and members of local and regional economic development organizations.

The Governor begins his tour this morning at the Center for Dairy Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and ends it this afternoon, at Schreiber Foods in Green Bay.

The companies were selected on the tour because they are among the many growing and thriving cheese producers in Wisconsin.
