The Salvation Army of Brown County has struck gold again this year. Someone dropped a gold coin worth more than $1,000 into the red kettle at Festival Foods east.
"It was a great surprise, especially going into the most crucial time of our campaign," said Major Bob Mueller, Brown Co. Coordinator for the Salvation Army. "This donation truly illustrates the generosity and caring attitude of all those in our community."
This is the fifth consecutive year that a donor has put a gold coin into a red kettle in the Green Bay area.
