100 local middle school girls explored careers in technology Friday. The sixth through eighth graders participated in hands-on activities at NWTC. They learned about networking, website coding, software development and much more.
"The studies show nationally that there are just more boys in technology than girls, so how can we get an inclusive environment where they feel like they can just explore on their own and really have fun with technology and hopefully then pursue a career in technology," said Microsoft TechSpark Wisconsin's Michelle Schuler.
She hopes she inspired the students to further explore the skills they'll need, like creativty and problem solving, in order to be a leader in a technology career.
