Getting ready for the 35th annual Octoberfest

More than 100,000 people will make their way to downtown Appleton this weekend for the 35th annual Octoberfest.

Friday night more than 50,000 walk along College Aveune for the License to Cruise.

It starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m. During the night you can enjoy hundreds of classic cars, live music and food. 

The event is all day Saturday, September 24 starts at 9 a.m. The day features live music, food, family-activities and arts and crafts.

Bring your ID if you want to buy beer tickets. Beer ticket sales are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event ends at 6 p.m.

Traffic Information 

Appleton Police suggest drivers plan alternative routes during the Octoberfest weekend. 

For the License to Cruise event, College Avenue will close between Drew and Lawe Streets at 12 p.m. The remainder of College Avenue (from Memorial Drive/Richmond Street to Drew Street) will close three (3) hours later at 3 p.m.   

Following the event, College Avenue will remain closed throughout the night and during the duration of Octoberfest.

Following Octoberfest, College Avenue will reopen to normal traffic at approximately 9 p.m. 

Cross traffic will be restricted at the intersections of College Avenue and

Morrison Street and the intersection of College Avenue and Appleton Street.
