ASHWAUBENON, Wis.- Bob Kleiman is gassing up his car before heading to deer camp Friday.
"Anytime I can save a few dollars, it's awesome," said Kleiman.
Prices at the Krist station in Ashwaubenon are at $1.89 and many are taking advantage of it.
"Driving a hundred miles a day it's nice," said Kimberly Page of Suring.
Triple a expects about 47 million people to travel at least 50 miles of more for Thanksgiving this year and economists say gas prices aren't expected to rise anytime soon.
"Demand side for gas is down and supply has increased and from a macro-economy type of fuel that's kind of what leads to lower prices for oil," said NWTC economics instructor, Tanvir Khan.
Triple A says this is the 7th consecutive year the number of people traveling for Thanksgiving has grown and more are getting to their holiday destinations by car than any other method.
"We probably will see increased consumer spending and consumer confidence going forward," said Khan.
For Kleiman he says he's going to enjoy the low gas prices while they're here.
"Happy to be saving a lot of dollars today," said Kleiman.
With the gas prices expected to stay this low for awhile, economists say that means good things for the economy in general because as people travel they'll spend money along the way.
