At 5:42 p.m. Friday, the Fox Valley Metro Police Department was dispatched to a single-family residence in the 300 block of North John Street in Kimberly.
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult man and a deceased adult woman inside the residence. The deceased have been identified as Laurie Colon, 38, and Gregory Colon, 42, of Kimberly. Although they were married, they were separated and had filed for divorce.
Autopsies were completed at the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office on July 16. Preliminary results confirmed that both parties died of gun-shot wounds.
As part of the police department's initial investigation, there was a continued law enforcement presence at the scene of this investigation for several days. This presence does not imply an active or ongoing threat to public safety, according to police Capt. Jeremy Slotke.
The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
Police are continuing to review and process evidence and conduct interviews. Currently, police are not seeking any suspects.
Once police are confident the investigation is complete, official findings will be released.
