Seven candidates are vying to be the next Mayor of  Kauakauna.

On Monday night, the community got to meet them at a public forum.

Not only did the candidates introduce themselves to the public, people in attendance also got to pick their brains so they came make a decision before casting their vote on election day.

The candidates answered questions from members of the Kaukauna Community at the Plumbers and Steamfitters building.

Every question had to be answered by each candidate. Some of the topics ranged from the city's budget, taxes, volunteerism and the city’s youth baseball program.

Current Mayor Gene Rosin is not seeking re-election.

After serving for 12 years, some of the candidates say they're ready to help the city move in a different direction.

"It is difficult filling in after someone, but Kaukauna is ready for a change. They want change. I hope I'm the next mayor.” said Greg VandeHey

"I think what the mayor has done for a lot of people has been wonderful and for some of the people not so much. Really, what I'm looking to do is pave my own way,” said Sam Kelly

The election will be held on February 20th.
