Former Priest gets jail time for exposing himself to a child

A retired Green Bay Priest will serve 120 days in the Brown County jail and 36 months of extended supervision following his conviction of four counts of exposing himself to a child.

A jury found Thomas guilty of exposing himself to a 16-year-old boy while living in Grellinger Hall, a home for retired Priests in Allouez.

Richard Lee Thomas will report to jail on November 29th.

The Green Bay Diocese released the following statement in response to the verdict:

"As a diocese, we are saddened by this situation. We are also very grateful to the person who came forward to report the allegations and to civil authorities for their work on the case. Upon receiving the report of misconduct on the part of Father Thomas, the diocese notified civil authorities and their investigation began. Following the policies of the Diocesan Code of Pastoral Conduct, Father Thomas, a senior (retired) priest, is restricted from performing any public ministry."
