He's best known for making one of the Packers' most memorable plays in history, but legendary place kicker Chester Marcol's battle with addiction almost cost him his career.
On Friday, he shared his story of struggling with drugs and depression with seventh graders at River View Middle School in Kaukauna.
Now, he's sober and devoting his life to teaching others how to overcome life's hardships to reach your full potential.
"I want to provide kids with some hope that regardless of what happens in their life, they're ok. They're not throw aways. They're not disposable people. They need to be cared for, and develop good friendships, and treat each other with respect," said Marcol.
Marcol has written a book about his personal struggles. He also takes part in numerous fundraisers to help others.
Marcol played for the Packers from 1972 to 1980.
