A former Menominee Tribal Police officer has been indicted for attempted child exploitation and attempted child enticement.

Basil O'Kimosh, 39, of Keshena, is accused of using an internet chat app to attempt to exploit a teenager on the Menominee Indian Reservation.

A federal grand jury returned the indictment on November 21.

On November 1, O'Kimosh allegedly tried to get sexual pictures of a minor. Also, between January 1 and November 2, 2017, O'Kimosh had used his phone to try and convince the young woman to engage in sexual activity on the Menominee Indian Reservation, according to the indictment.

The case was investigated by the Menominee Tribal Police Department and the FBI with help from the Wisconsin DOJ.
