At 11:14 a.m. Friday, Fond du Lac Police received information that a Fond du Lac man had made threats to his estranged wife and possibly his children.
The children are students in Fond du Lac. The Fond du Lac School District and staff at Fond du Lac High School and Rosenow Elementary School were notified of the situation and police presence was increased in these locations as a precaution. Both of these schools were placed on yellow alert by the school district. Meanwhile, officers continued to investigate the complaint and tried to locate the man.
During the incident, information was developed that the man was at work at a location outside of Fond du Lac County. The Fond du Lac Police Department coordinated efforts with the Berlin Police Department and Green Lake County Sheriff’s Department and the man was taken into custody without incident at 1:50 p.m. Friday.
The investigation of the possible threats made in this incident is ongoing.
