On December 15 at approximately 1:21 a.m. the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery at the Speedway on 550 W. Johnson Street.

An employee told responding officers that a man entered Speedway and demanded cash from the register after he displayed a pocket knife.

The staff did not turn over any money.

Police say the suspect fled on foot through the front door of the building and ran west.

The area was searched with a Fond du Lac Police Department K-9 Unit, but the suspect was not located.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office also assisted in checking the area for the suspect.

Police describe the suspect as a black male 25 to 30-years-old. He is thin and between 5'10" and 6'1" tall.

The suspect was seen wearing a black over grey coat / fleece with a black zipper, jeans and a black face mask.

No one was injured during this incident.
