Two people died in Manitowoc County Sunday, as a result of the flu, according to Manitowoc County Coroner Curtis Green.

The Manitowoc County Coroners' Office was called to their home in Two Rivers after a 48-year-old woman died.

Authorities tested a nasal swab used on the woman and confirmed she died from the flu type A.

A 56-year-old man who also lived in the home died several hours later at the hospital from the same illness. Green said names of victims will not be released until family members have been notified.

The man went to Aurora Two Rivers Hospital for treatment, but the woman did not, Green said.

People throughout Two Rivers reacted to the news Monday night, some saying they're worried.

"I'm kind of older, I'm 68 now and they say it's harder on the older people and the very young. I might fit into the older category," said Fran Kornelly, Owner of Sandpiper Bar in Two Rivers.

There are some ways to avoid the Flu, according to the CDC. Those include avoiding close contact with people who may be sick, staying home when you're sick, washing your hands and don't touch your nose or mouth.
