ARGYLE, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities say one fisherman is missing and another has died after a boating accident in southwestern Wisconsin.

The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office was called Saturday afternoon to the boating accident on the Pecatonica River just below the dam in Argyle.

WISC-TV reports three men were fishing along the river when strong currents pulled their boat into the spillway.

All three were thrown from the boat. Two of the fishermen were rescued, but Sheriff Reg Gill says one of the rescued men -- identified as 46-year-old Thomas Melland of Monroe -- later died at UW-Madison Hospital. The other rescued man was being treated for hypothermia and was expected to be released from the Monroe Hospital.

The third man remained missing. Crews resumed searching for him Sunday.
