It was an exciting first day of school for many families.
For students at Xavier Elementary in Appleton, students say they've been waiting all summer for this glorious day.
That includes the children of NBC26’s news director, Julie Moravchik:
"I'm going to the first grade!" says Josie.
"I get to see all my friends again, that’s just something great,” says Joey.
School starts September 4th for most public schools, the day after Labor Day.
