A house fire on Saturday in Kaukauna is being blamed on hot embers from a portable fire pit on a deck.
Fire crews were called to a home on Grignon Street around 6 PM Saturday where they found a deck and the back of the home on fire and electrical lines from the home had been downed.
The fire had moved to the second story, attic, and roof. No one was home at the time. A detached garage was also damaged, as well as a nearby home that had siding damage due to the heat.
The fire caused an estimated $80,000 worth of damage.
