No one was injured in a house fire that caused extensive damage to a Grand Chute home Monday afternoon.
Crews were called to a home on the 1300 block of Bluemound Drive around 1:30 p.m. First responders immediately saw heavy fire pushing from an attached garage extending into the attic and living space, according to the Grand Chute Fire Department.
The people who lived in the house were out at that time.
The fire was contained to the attic space and garage, but the inside of the house had significant water damage from crews extinguishing the fire, the Grand Chute Fire Department said.
There is no damage estimate yet, and the fire is still under investigation but is not considered suspicious. They do not know the cause of the fire yet.
The Grand Chute, Appleton, Fox Crossing, and Neenah Fire Departments all responded to the fire, in addition to Grand Chute Police, State Patrol, Outagamie County Sheriff's Department, Outagamie County CERT and Gold Cross Ambulance.
