Green Bay's Finance Committee is identifying a funding source to pay the law firm they hired as council when they considered removing Mayor Jim Schmitt from office.
The city will pay the $30,000 dollar fee using their contingency fund.
But before they pay, they will ask for a more detailed account of the charges.
The bill is for work done between January and February of this year.
"I felt that the firm that we did hire was very effective, I think theres just some questions of the billing itself, says alderman Mark Steurer. "We've got to make sure that the line items are spoken for and answered in the correct way."
The council couldn't use the City Attorney because she was appointed by the Mayor, and some aldermen felt there would be a conflict of interest in the case.
