UPDATE: The Door County Medical Examiner has identified the man who died in a boating accident as 54-year-old Vernon J. Rubenic of Oswego, Illinois.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and died from injuries sustained in the boat crash. Additional testing by the medical examiner is being done at this time.
The death remains under investigation by the Door County Medical Examiners office and the Door County Sheriffs Department.

The Door County Sheriff's Department reports one person was killed and another injured after a 23-foot Powerquest boat crashed into a large rock on the shore last night.
It happened near Door Bluff Road in the Town of Libery Grove just before midnight Friday.
Sheriff Steve Delarwelle reports the owner of the boat, a 54-year-old Illinois man, was killed and a 40-year old man from Washington Island was seriously injured.
The crash is now under investigation.
The victim's identity is not being released until family can be notified.
