Expera Specialty Solutions has been sold to Finland-based company Ahlstrom‐Munksjö, according to a news release.
Expera is headquartered in Kaukauna, and has plants in De Pere, Rhinelander, and Mosinee.
Expera makes paper products, food packaging, and industrial supplies, among other products.
Expera employs approximately 1,800 people.
The sale is expected to be finalized later this year.
Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson said in a statement that the move should mean good-paying jobs in the Fox Valley for generations.
