An excessive heat warning is in effect through 7 p.m. Saturday for much of northeast Wisconsin.
The NBC 26 forecast calls for widespread 90s, with heat indices reaching 110 degrees. The heat index is a measure of how hot it feels, taking into account temperature and relative humidity.
"The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors."
The following counties are included in the warning: Northern Marinette County, Menominee, Northern Oconto County, Shawano, Waupaca, Outagamie, Brown, Waushara, Winnebago, Calumet, Southern
Marinette County, Southern Oconto County.
