MANITOWOC, Wis—Crews with the Manitowoc Fire and Rescue Department were called to the 1900 block of Western Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Monday for a report of smoke filling a basement.
When crews arrived they found light smoke filled the basement from a small fire.
Those in the home were able to evacuate safely due to working smoke alarms.
Damage is estimated around $500.00.
The fire is under investigation.
