Event held to spread awareness on immigration reform


As the nation waits to know what the future of immigration reform, different immigrant communities in the Fox Valley came together to share their stories on Sunday afternoon.

The event was held at the Fox Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Appleton.

Organizers say the goal was to inform the public what current status of DACA, hear experiences from dreamers and to help push immigration reform.

"Sometimes we are afraid to know someone who looks different or that has a different accent. We just want the whole community know where we are coming from, and we’re here,” said Norys Pina.
