The 2018 Hats Off event by B.A.B.E.S, Inc was a full night of fun, lip syncing, laughs, fundraising and recognition.

B.A.B.E.S, Inc. got it's start on March 12, 1997, founded by Dr. G. Manns, the President of B.A.B.E.S, Inc and founder of Appleton Sanctuary Outreach Ministries.

The goal of the organization is to provide no cost, seven-hour respite care in Northeast Wisconsin, but to also prevent child abuse and neglect by offering young parents relief during stressful times, educational support and services.

The Hats Off event at the Radisson Paper Valley highlighted the dedication of numerous volunteers, community leaders and supporters of B.A.B.E.S, Inc.

Manns started the organization more than two decades ago. She sadly passed away on January 8th, 2013, but the organization has continued to help families, spread the word and take action against child abuse.

The Dr. G. Manns Impact Award was given to NBC26's Stacy Engrebretson.

" It's been my pleasure over the years to be able to highlight the beautiful work of B.A.B.E.S, to talk with some of the women, men, children, who have been impacted by what they do and hear first-hand how it has changed their life and it has saved them from maybe some bad situations. So it is my honor and hearing about everything Dr. G. Manns did in starting this organization." said Engebretson, when accepting the award.

Stacy has been reporting on the B.A.B.E.S., Inc since 2013. Many of the stories featured are part of theNBC26 Cares series.
